Trek Plus was founded in 1987 in a quiet back street in St. Helier, Jersey by Graeme Pitman, Diana Bell and friends. During the early years the Company provided uniforms for the Jersey Scout Association and clothing and equipment to them and a growing band of civilian clients who wanted quality products at a reasonable price and with good customer service.
As the business expanded it had to move to the bigger shop next door (1991) as more outdoor enthusiasts sought us out. Then in 1993 Mrs. Bell retired and the Pitman family took over the entire business. Joined by Graeme's daughter Christine and son Nick and with wife Freda as book-keeper the shop underwent a complete refit and new products were added to a growing list of well known outdoor names such as Karrimor, Berghaus, Lowe Alpine, Mountain Equipment and Rohan to name but a few.
In late 2001 the Company had the chance to rent a shop next to the main shopping area in the Town which was three times the size of our back street shop and on the 2nd January 2002 Trek Plus at 6a Colomberie, St. Helier, was opened.
With more passing trade and the ability to spread displays out and increase our product base, turnover increased dramatically. Major brands sold here now include The North Face, Lowe Alpine, Karrimor, Berghaus, Jack Wolfskin, Keela, Brasher, Meindl, Snugpak, Uvex, Columbia, Maglite, Victorinox Swiss Army, Vango, Craghoppers, Timberland, Bask, Diel Sports, White Rock, Asolo and many more.
Trek Plus is the premier outdoor adventure clothing and equipment specialist in the Channel Islands, is family owned and run and is V.A.T.-free. We are also members of the Outdoor Industries Association whose website can be found at www.go-outdoors.org.uk

PERSONNEL FREDA PITMAN (Chairman)
Wife of the late founder, Freda continues to take an active part in the running of the Company as the Accounts Manager and Book-keeper. More importantly she pays our wages. An experienced world traveller, avid reader and mother of two children and two grandchildren. |

CHRISTINE MARETT
Freda's daughter, and mother of two boys, Chris and her husband Mick have been running a Scout Group and the Scout Band in Jersey for over 30 years. A retired Veterinary Nurse (V.N.), Chris has been involved in many outdoor pursuits and has been with the Company since 1990. |

NICK PITMAN (Managing Director) Brother of Christine, Nick is a retired Police Officer who has been with the Company since 1993. A Queen's Scout, much travelled soul and husband to Halyna, Nick has a photographic memory for all things technical. |

RUSSELL MARETT (Webmaster)
Son of Christine, Russell is a student currently studying Archaeology at the University of Exeter. His technical abilities have helped pioneer the website into e-commerce and has become the first contact when technical problems occur. | ||
